My name is Allen Hart and in today’s video I’m going to show you how to connect your Salus PS600 Smart Pipe sensor to your smart home network. This is part of the Salus smart home range.
ThePS600 is a smart pipe sensor. It’s used to measure the temperature of your pipe work and it can be controlled through the Salus smart home app.
Let’s pair the PS600 pipe sensor. First of all we’re going to remove the cover. It just clicks off and if we have a look inside we can see there’s a battery and there’s also a red tab. If we pull that red tab out it’ll enter pairing mode.
So first of all we’re going to go to the smart home app on your phone or your pc. Tap on the three lines. Go to settings, setup equipment and scan for equipment. And then that now will try and find the device. This could take a couple of minutes.
Click on the device, click on connect equipment and then we just need to name the equipment. So for this one we’ll just put PS600 pipe sensor.
And then we’ll just click on next. Then we just click on finish, and we can now see we’ve got the pipe sensor on the screen.
It’s important to remember that at this point the PS600 is only giving you a temperature reading. However the Salus One Touch rules are a great way to take advantage of the product as part of the smart home network. We’ll cover the One Touch rules in more detail in a future video.
Just as an extra tip these are really versatile in terms of where you can fit them. The pipe on the clip on the end of the probe, it fits onto 15 mm pipe but also you can remove the clip. And when you remove the clip you can attach it to bigger pipes, maybe put a cable tie on there. You can put it into hot water cylinders, put a bit of lagging in just so you get a true reading. You could if you wanted even use it as an outside temperature sensor to create a weather compensation style system. Plenty of options.
That wraps up today’s video. I hope you found it useful. If you’ve got any questions on the PS600 pipe sensor or any of the Salus smart home products leave a comment below. As always like, comment, subscribe all that good stuff and I’ll see you in the next video.
