NAVIEN COMBI BOILER REVIEW Allen Hart today we are at plumbase in leeds just going to have a brief overview of the navien boiler range so i will just pass you over to steve from plumbase leeds , Hello steve manger of plumbase in leeds just want to thank navien barrie for coming here today to demo the navien boiler range , Hey up , hello , come on into the van and take a look come on come and have a look , just want to thank barry for coming down to demo these boilers today, so we are here on the navien van in leeds at plumbase we have come to look at the new navien boiler range this is it with the cover on and this is it with the cover off this is barrie from Navien , Hello we have some demonstrations to show you on the actual controls which are opentherm internet controls modulating they actually talk to you as well which i have never seen before which is different , do you want me just to run through this quickly can you get in there ok so it can be as simple as a normal room stat just up and down also if your hard of hearing it also speaks to you its also nice and bright press it its set to set the timer it couldn’t be easier so if you want it on say one o’clock in the afternoon just go to 13 and just add it on its on a 24 hour basis and then its set give it a couple of seconds thats it its that easy to set it also just press that to put it into summer mode press that to take it out of summer mode this is basically just an interface for that it will also give you fault codes on there as well as on your phone its also wifi enabled a few other good features stainless steel heat exchanger one of the things everyone likes is this pcb fully water resistant resin coated so some of the country this really helps flues you can go upto 20m with a standard flue 110m with a twin 80mm flue so is that the same flue that ideal use , yes M and G , some other cool features like commissioning hold this button for 2 seconds and it gives you a flow temperature then return temperature hot water temperature cold water temperature which is a little bit hot now because its been sitting in the plate then litres per minute also gives you outside temp if you have it connected also pressure because you have cold water inlet temperature sensor you can have preheated cold water upto 65 degrees so if you have solar thermal on the roof use this as a backup so use the combi as a back up , ok so stainless steel heat exchanger you don’t need any heat pads like you do with the aluminium heat exchangers , one good thing that makes these so efficient is this secondary heat exchanger so its a dual pass so if you run like a 60/40 return when it hasn’t been dropped its quite big waterways this isn’t where the water passes through this is for the flue gases to drag more heat out of it to make it more efficient so its not like a plate heat exchanger thats not cut in half , how about cleaning the heat exchanger out, for the first 5 years we are saying not to clean it out its self cleaning because its all stainless steel and using slightly acidic condense waters there is no need to clean it out in america they never clean them out they leave them sealed for 10 years , What about the back , its all stainless steel , so what about the general construction of the boiler are these aluminium , no its all stainless steel , all of them are stainless steel , yes , ok , the gas is a lower grade but all the water carrying parts are high grade stainless steel , good quality brass components in the back , yea, as you noted before as well mackie there is no PRV inside the boiler, its external to make it easier to work on , to clean the condense its easy its right at the front pull the clip out and just pull down clean it, with it been all stainless steel though they will be nothing in that , so thats a bit of a brief overview of the navien range of gas boilers , so thank you very much for showing us the navien today and its been a pleasure to meet you barry
